With that, a new season begins! For QB that means starting with a tour, for the first time in 18 months. From September 3-13, we will present concerts and workshops in Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany. ________________________
We will perform several new works, including a new piece for string quartet and saxophone quartet by Jürg Frey, as well as a sextet for string quartet, keyboard and euphonium by Richard Ayres. We are looking forward to working and collaborating with colleagues in chamber music again after all these months of seclusion!
We are eager to join Quatuor Konus on tour in Switzerland (other dates will follow in November and December) and eventually to record Jürg Frey's new work Continuité, fragilité, résonance. We will join pianist Nora Mulder and trombonist Koen Kaptijn at Gaudeamus Muziekweek Festival in Utrecht.
Finally, we will resume our Composer's Kitchen, which has been put on hold several times during the pandemic. We are thrilled to present these 4 creations to the public, by young composers Sarah Davachi, Alec Hall, Vitali Karagkezidis and Silvia Lanao Aregay. The motto of the CK is to "Dare to do what you've never done before", and we can tell you that this has been taken quite literally. Watch this clip for a taste of their previous work.
