Dear friends,

We're taking a few weeks off to recharge our batteries, in preparation for a busy Winter and Spring 2024!   

We'll be back in Halifax in early January at Upstream's Open Waters Festival with two concerts showcasing the highlights and long-standing collaborations of Quatuor Bozzini. The programme on January 10 features Montreal composer-performer Nic Caloia, London-based Canadian superstar Cassandra Miller, a work by Tanya Tagaq, and a brilliant new version of Bach's Chaconne - arranged by Montreal composer Michael Oesterle. The following day, we share the stage with Symphony Nova Scotia to premiere a large-scale new work by Christian Wolff for string quartet and orchestra. A legendary figure in the orbit of the New York School around John Cage, Morton Feldman and Merce Cunningham. Wolff, who will turn 90 in March 2024, is as active as ever, and we look forward to performing his surprising music, which constantly challenges us to integrate spontaneous creative decisions. 

We've got plenty of surprises in store for the rest of the season, both on tour and in Montreal, including unheard-of Harmonies, and forays into Cologne, The Hague, Nijmegen, Birminghan, Snape Maltings, Bristol and... more!

Well yes, the Bozzini Lab will return to Montreal 

in the spring of 2024!🧪

Bozzini Lab returns to the big city! The little brother of Composer's Kitchen, it's an intensive string composition workshop for young composers at the beginning or middle of their studies or artistic development. We'll be announcing the call in January, so stay tuned!

Frey album, available soon

To mark the 70th birthday of Swiss composer Jürg Frey, we are proud to release Jürg Frey's String Quartet No. 4 on the QB Collection. The album will be available from January 23, 2024 on the Actuellecd website, Bandcamp and streaming platforms.
